This Roasted Red Pepper Hummus recipe is easy to make with simple ingredients and full of flavor.

A couple of weeks ago I woke up craving homemade hummus, so I decided to make some. When I was getting all the ingredients ready, I noticed a jar of roasted peppers next to the tahini. So, I made this roasted red pepper hummus and it was fantastic!
I enjoy making dips like this for a quick snack because they are healthy and easy to prepare. Some other dips that I love making are my black bean dip, easy avocado hummus and white bean and roasted red pepper dip.

Ingredients You'll Need
The printable recipe card to make this simple roasted pepper hummus recipe with exact amounts and directions is below.
Roasted Red Bell Peppers: You can roast your own peppers to m make this recipe, but I like to use store bought when I want to make a simple hummus. Use your favorite brand.
Chickpeas: They are also known as garbanzo beans and they are the main ingredient of traditional hummus. You can cook them from scratch or use canned chickpeas.
Tahini: It's a paste made with sesame seeds and you can buy it at any supermarket. Always buy a good quality or find a recipe to make it at home.
Olive Oil: This ingredients helps the hummus to be smooth and creamy.
Spices: Cumin, chili powder, salt and black pepper. The cumin adds a wonderful earthy flavor, a pinch a chili adds a small amount of heat, and salt and pepper to add extra flavor to the hummus.
Garlic: I love the addition of garlic for flavor.
Lemon: Always use fresh lemon juice to make hummus, because adds great flavor to the dip.
Water: It helps all the ingredients to come together for a smooth and creamy dip.

I LOVE Hummus and this looks great.I've made it thrice in a week and am planning on another round.....I find the best hummus comes from taking the skins off the chickpeas and gently roasting both the chickpeas and the garlic!

I LOVE roasted pepper hummus and yours looks glorious. I cook big batches of garbanzos and make the hummus bit by bit during the week. It took me quite a while to realize that the little bit of water makes a big difference in the finished product. Keep the good recipies coming! I'm definitely going to try your white bean and roasted pepper - never done that one, and I actually have some cooked white beans on hand right now.

This looks great. I think I have a moderate pita & hummus addiction - not having hummus in the house is not an option! We will definitely have to try making our own at some point.

I have two social events this weekend and love getting ideas like this, when I feel 'food' overload and brain dead from cooking so much! I love hummus, and this would be perfect for the socials!

The roasted red pepper gives this hummus such a lovely color. I miss this dip (can't have due to reaction to chickpeas) but there's always your white bean-roasted pepper dip!
