    The Best Guacamole

This is the best guacamole recipe, because it's quick to make and delicious served with your favorite chips.

    The Best Guacamole RecipePin

I made a simple guacamole recipe before and I loved it, but this week I made a different version for my husband and he thought it was better than the last one.

Guacamole is a versatile dip and I love adding it to my arepas, salted potatoes, hamburgers, tacos and even hot dogs.

    GuacamolePin

    Ingredients You'll Need

The printable recipe card with exact amounts and directions is below.

Avocado: Be sure your avocados are ripe for the best guacamole.

Onions: You can use red or yellow onions.

Tomato: Your tomato should not be very ripe and soft.

Lime: Fresh lime juice is a must to make this dip.

Cilantro: Fresh cilantro is a wonderful addition, but if you really don't like it use fresh parsley.

Jalapeño: You can adjust the amount depending if you like it spicy or not.

    The Best GuacamolePin

    How to Make Guacamole?

    • Cut each avocado in half, working around the pit. Twist apart, and remove the pit with a knife. Peel off the skin and toss in a bowl. Add the lime juice to prevent from browning, mash the avocados.
    • Add the onion, jalapeño pepper, tomato, cilantro, pepper and salt.
    • To serve as a dip, transfer to a serving dish, garnish with cilantro and serve with tortilla chips.

Sigh.... Nothing makes a good dish better than a good guacamole. =) My problem is I wind up eating half of the avocado before I can mash it LOL.

Another easy Avocado recipe, Take the avocado and core and clean like Erica says, then cut it in to trangular wedges lengthwise, so you'll have 6-7 inch long strips of the avocado, then drizzle some lime juice over it and shake some salt over it. It works better if the avocado is already cold. I could eat avocado like that all day, if it wasn't nearly $2 per avocado I would probably eat it all day.

Hi Erica. This is basically my recipe as well, except I always add about 1/2 tsp of cumin to meld the flavors even more. Then to make sure you always open the batch to a bright green instead of black, make sure to put Saran wrap directly over the guacomole and pressing against it then cover it. This guarantees fresh green all the time.

I love guacamole! Those are the same ingredients I use for mine too, only a slightly different method. Looks fantastic! Which reminds me, I have a ton of avocados that I need to use up.
