Erica, yes this is a great drink here in Cartagena, in several restaurants we often visit they use ..leche condensada..condensed milk, this gives it a still smoother texture
      thank you

        Jim,
The last time I was in Cartagena & Barranquilla, earlier this year, I heard that indeed they use condensed milk, but instead of using crema de coco, they use agua de coco with lime juice and condensed milk, with ice. Now, I have to do a LOT of research to figure out the proportions! Today, I discovered that it may be good with rum, but please use the light rum, since the dark Jamaican rum makes it taste like limonada de coco with molasses...not good!

Would that be sweetened condensed milk?

When you say “cream of coconut” , Are you mean the entire can or do you just separate the cream from the can out and discard the watery liquid?

I’ve made this and it is amazing! But I do have a question, I work at a fire station and I want to make it for the guys but when I change the servings from 2 to 6, the number of limes doesn’t change. Do I keep the same 3 limes for serving of 6?
