How to Choose a Watermelon
A good watermelon should feel heavy for its size. Should be firm and not have any soft spots. It also should be green and not shinny.
How to Cut a Watermelon
Place the watermelon on a cutting board and using a sharp knife cut about 1 inch off the top and 1 inch off the bottom.
Place the watermelon onto one flat side and cut off the watermelon rind, moving the knife around the edge of the watermelon, be sure to cut any remaining white parts off. Then cut the watermelon into cubes.
What Other Fruits Can You Add?
This watermelon juice is perfect as a base for cocktails, smoothies and you can also add more fruits like strawberries or raspberries for a delicious variation.
Place the watermelon in the refrigerator after you cut it in an sealed container for up to 4 days.
If you want to freeze your watermelon spread out the cubes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and place it in the freezer for a a couple of hours or until frozen, this will prevent the watermelon cubes from sticking together. After the cubes are frozen, place them in a freezer-friendly, sealed container.
