This mustard creamy chicken recipe is comforting, full of flavor and easy to make. Perfect for a weeknight meal or to entertain.

About this Mustard Chicken Recipe
In this delicious dish, chicken legs are cooked with spices, vegetables and rich cream until the meat practically melts right off its bones. Since I love the rich flavor of dark meat I used chicken legs. But if you prefer boneless chicken breast, just reduce the cooking time by about 10 minutes.
Ingredients You'll Need
The printable recipe card with exact amounts and cooking directions to make this Creamy Mustard Chicken is below.
Chicken: I like to use bone in chicken legs or thighs to make this dish, but feel free to use boneless chicken breast or tenders if you prefer.
Oil: I like to use olive oil, but feel free to use your favorite.
Vegetables: Garlic and onions to add extra flavor to the sauce.
Cream: Adds richness to the sauce and a wonderful creamy texture.
Mustard: I like to use dijon mustard for this chicken recipe, but you can use regular if you prefer the flavor.
Chicken Broth: To make the sauce and cook the chicken.
Spices: Paprika, salt and black pepper.
Honey: Adds sweetness to the sauce and balances the mustard flavor.
Herbs: Parsley or cilantro to garnish the dish.

How to Make Creamy Mustard Chicken?
- Pat the chicken dry and season the pieces with salt, pepper and paprika.
- Heat a saucepan over medium high heat and add the oil. Let the oil heat for a few seconds. Add the chicken and cook to sear all the sides turning the pieces a couple of times until they are golden browned about 10 minutes.
- Transfer the browned chicken to a plate and set a side. Add the onions and garlic to the skillet and cook for about 2 minutes or until soft. Add the chicken broth, mustard, honey and cream. Season with salt and black pepper.
- Stir well and return the chicken pieces to the pan. Cover the pan and cook over medium low for about 45 minutes or until the chicken is cooked. The final temperature for chicken legs should be 170˚F.
- Serve warm over white rice and garnish with chopped parsley.

What to Serve with this Dish?
I really like to serve this mustard chicken over white rice or cilantro rice to soak the delicious sauce and a simple salad. Mashed potatoes are also a wonderful side dish for this chicken dish.
