Canelazo is a traditional Colombian hot drink made with sugar cane and cinnamon. It's very comforting and perfect for a cold day.

    CanelazoPin

Canelazo is a popular and strong Colombian drink that is a perfect end to any meal. It's made from agua de panela, cinnamon and aguardiente, an anise flavored liquor  which translates to "fire water" in English and lime juice. Enjoy this cocktail at your next party!

    How to Make Canelazo

    • Place the aguapanela, aguardiente, cinnamon and lime juice in a medium-low pot over medium heat. Simmer for about 7 minutes. Don not let it boil.
    • To serve: place the sugar in a shallow dish. Moisten the rim of a espresso cup with a dampened paper towel, then dip in sugar.
    • Fill the cup with canelazo. Serve immediately.

That's different! I've heard of Mexican hot chocolate with cinnamon, but never a straight cinnamon drink. I bet it's tasty as can be. 🙂

The cinnamon is just one of the ingredients; you won't taste as the main flavor. The combination of flavored and the smell are incredibly unique. Great for cold nights, bonfires and camping !!!!!
