This Hot Dog with Chimichurri Sauce was inspired by the popular dish Choripán from Argentina. Choripán is basically a sandwich made with grilled Argentinian sausage, split in the middle and top with fresh chimichurri sauce.
I love Choripán and it’s been a while since I’ve had one. The last time I ate a good Choripán was during one of my last visits to Colombia about 3 years ago. So, this week I was craving it again, but I didn’t have chorizos at home, so I thought it would be fun to make a variation of Choripán using hot dogs. The chimichurri sauce makes these hot dogs completely irresistible.
To make the traditional Choripán just use Argentinian chorizos instead of the hot dogs and sandwich rolls instead of hot dog rolls. It is an absolutely delicious Argentinian creation.
Buen provecho!

Thank for this and some great pictures too.
Just one thing though. Whenever I’ve had a hot dog in Colombia they always have crisps on top. 😉

I love chmichurri and have often said I would eat it on cardboard but never thought about a hot dog like this. Wonder how it would be on brats.

what a neat idea it is to slice the dogs down the middle. chimichurri makes a great topping too. 🙂
