This guava paste with cheese is a simple Colombian dessert that only requires two ingredients and it's delicious.

    What is Bocadillo con Queso?

It is a simple and easy to make Colombian dessert also known as casado in some parts of the country. If you are thinking that this is not a dish, but rather a couple of ingredients on a plate, you'd be right! A slice of white cheese with a slice of guava paste, but the combination of salty cheese and sweet guava paste is one of those heavenly combinations that you simply must try if you haven't already.

    Casado IngredientsPin

    What Kind of Cheese?

You can use white cheese (queso blanco), queso fresco, mozarella cheese, feta, brie or cream cheese. They will all work beautifully with the guava paste.

    What is Guava Paste?

It's a sweet paste made with fresh guavas and sugar. You can find it in Latin markets, online or at your local supermarket in the International aisle.

    How to Serve it?

Serve it as a dessert or an appetizer, cut into little pieces. This is a very simple, but absolutely delicious combination.

I love the combo of guava paste and white cheese, but I am curious about the paste in your photo because it shows 2 layers. What is the second, lighter layer?
