Tomatoes: I like to use canned tomatoes to make this salsa, but you can use fresh roma or plum tomatoes to make it.
Spices: ground cumin, sugar, oregano and salt.
Vegetables: Onion and garlic. You can use red onion if you prefer.
Cilantro: adds a delicious and fresh flavor to salsa.
Limes: Fresh lime juice adds fresh and tangy flavor to the recipe.
Jalapeño: You can control the heat by adding less jalapeño if you prefer or removing the seeds.

How to Make Salsa
- Add all the ingredients to a food processor or blender.
- Pulse several times until the salsa has your desired consistency.
- Taste and adjust salt and jalapeño as needed.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to develop.

Hello Erica, I live in Belgium and have tried some of your lovely recipes on my Belgium husband and he loves everything I have made so far. Thank you!!!
Question: I want to make your Red Tomato Salsa but I do not fine tomatillos here or fresh jalapenos (only pickeled). What other alternatives do you have? for the tomatillos, etc.
Erica
Elizabeth- Just omit the tomatillos!

I'll definitely try this recipe, I had tried to do homemade salsa once before, but it didn't turn out well. I know the sugar and vinegar will make this recipe perfect. Thanks for this great recipe!

Love Salsa (how can I be Mexican and NOT love salsa?
Love tortilla chips (ditto)
Love the blue corn chips you chose to photograph. They're so much tastier (in my opinion anyway) than the yellow corn ones!
