    I am not exaggerating when I say that soups are one of my favorite meals. They make me feel good, they are filling, comforting and versatile.

    Soups are a huge part of the Colombian diet and we have a large repertoire of traditional recipes. I grew up with my mom making a pot of soup every day for lunch or dinner and her freezer is still full of containers with frozen leftover soups. And of course my grandmother always made a huge pot of sancocho every Sunday for family dinners.

    I was not a big fan of soup as child, but as an adult I learned to love them and try to make different recipes a couple times a week even during the hot summer months. I like to served my soups with a light salad and avocado on the side.
