Jugo de Piña or Pineapple Juice is a simple and popular drink in Colombian homes. It is one of my favorite drinks and it's very easy to make and delicious. Growing up in Colombia my mom always had a pitcher of fresh juice in the fridge and jugo de piña was one of my favorites.

Enjoy this refreshing and traditional Colombian fruit juice on a hot summer day. This drink is prefect for kids and adults.

I made this recipe this past weekend and like all other recipes from this site, it was a winner. I used a whole pineapple which gave me about 4½ cups. I added more water and sugar to taste since I used more pineapple than the recipe indicated. Also, and this is just a personal preference, I strain the juice before putting it in a juice jar. Pineapples tend to have a lot of those little fibers that get in the way and it's better to strain them out before serving.

      Erica,
I love and quite frequently use your recipes now! I was looking for a tried and tested recipe for chicha de piña y arroz, super popular in Barranquilla, I would like to see your version!!

      Thanks!
